Adam Yauch

On May 4th one of the greatest person in the music world -at least for me- died, Mr. Adam Yauch was 47 years old and he left a huge void y hip-hop world. Adam was the founding member of the Beastie Boys. -even thought they started as a punk band- he along with Mike D (Michael Diamond) and Ad-Rock (Adam Horovitz) created one of the most controversial music groups ever made. Three jewish and white kids decided one day that they will change de hip-hop world and the certainly did, even when nobody had either faith or respect for them they shut the mouth of those who talked trash about them and proved that you don't have to be black to have"flow" or spit out good lyrics.

Adam was a self taught musician, a vegetarian, a buddhist and a strong supporter of the Tibetan independece movement, he was a multifaced artist and had a vein for filmmaking, he directed a basketball documental called Gunnin' for That # 1 Spot and also some of the Beastie Boys videos under the pseudonym Nathaniel Hörnblowér.

His latest film work was the extend version of the "Make Some Noise" video, a 30-minute long version and entitled "Fight for Your Right Revisited" that was realeased to commemorate the 25th anniversary of "(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right to Party". Danny McBride played him.

Adam died of cancer of the parotid salivary gland, he left a wife and a 14 year old daughter named Tenzin Losel.
